A 31-year-old man has died following a hit and run in the city’s northwest Police said the man had entered the westbound lanes on St. Clair Avenue West, west of Symes Road, when he was struck by a grey or silver?coloured mini?van at around 5 a.m. Saturday.
The driver fled the scene and continued westbound on St. Clair Avenue West.
When paramedics and police arrived on the scene they found the man without vital signs.
Hit and Run Detectives located the vehicle in the west-end of the city Saturday afternoon and said an arrest was anticipated.
The Toronto Police Service said in a release that they would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance with this investigation.
Two other pedestrians were seriously hurt from two separate overnight incidents overnight.
A teenage girl is in critical condition after being hit by a car shortly after 1 a.m. near Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West.
The 16-year-old was exiting the driver’s side of a taxi cab and attempted to cross Bathurst Street, according to police. She was then hit by a 20-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry southbound in the passing lane.
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In another early morning accident a man in his sixties was hit by a car in near Lawrence and Warden Avenues. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
